About The Role
As our Employment and Compliance Counsel, you'll be a trusted advisor shaping how we support our 500+ EMEA team members across four countries (UK, Germany, Ireland and The Netherlands). Your expertise will directly impact our ability to maintain our award-winning culture while navigating complex multi-jurisdictional challenges. The EMEA Legal team is led by an Associate General Counsel (to whom you’ll report), and includes two commercial lawyers and a paralegal, together forming part of a Global Legal Team of almost 30 people. Working closely with the EMEA People team, you will be an excellent advisor and partner who is skilled in thinking strategically and advancing practical solutions.

- Mastering the art of global consistency while championing local nuance across 4+ EMEA countries.
- Building strong relationships operating at all levels of the organisation; working both independently and as a strong collaborator to drive consensus and appropriate decision-making across teams.
- Using your skills to sensibly assess when to engage external counsel, ensuring their contributions are cost-effective and valuable.
- Collaborating with other legal team members to share best practices and implement risk management strategies.
- Actively monitoring legal changes and using this knowledge to ensure people policies and practices remain compliant.
- Managing our EMEA horizon tracker for all legal matters which is regularly shared with country boards and used to drive cross-functional awareness and change.
- Training internal clients on legal issues, policies and processes in line with company standards.
- Being part of our growth story - helping us expand into new EMEA countries, when the time is right, and building compliant, people-first foundations from day one!
- Expanding your skillset and experience! You’re willing to jump in and support a wide range of legal issues that may arise even outside your core areas of expertise in an enthusiastic and proactive manner.
What You’ll Bring
- Qualified lawyer in UK/Europe with, as a guide, 5-9 years' PQE.
- Training from a reputable law firm and, ideally, previous time in-house as an employee/secondee.
- Strong communication and excellent judgment skills.
- Proven ability to deliver solutions meeting legal and business objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to follow through on commitments while handling multiple priorities and deadlines.
