Slalom is seeking a Data Privacy and Governance Strategist to join our Data Security, Privacy & Ethics team. We believe in a world where every piece of data is trusted, valued, and never abused. As Data Privacy & Ethics professionals, we support and advise clients to balance flexible use of data supporting insight and innovation against guardianship for individual rights where data relates to people and impacts their lives.

What will you do?
- Establish policies and procedures and implement technical solutions that ensure data is safe, secure, compliant, and ethically used in both traditional and AI‑enabled processes.
- Define approaches to support Data Privacy in both traditional and AI‑enabled initiatives and programmes, working with diverse stakeholders to design appropriate solutions and recommendations.
- Support the work of our clients’ data privacy leaders, responsible for the overall integrity of personal, confidential, and sensitive data and compliance with good data privacy practices and ethical use of data in AI.
- Bring data privacy expertise to support a variety of client engagements, from deploying data‑related technology solutions to helping customers establish a modern culture of data by developing their ways of working.
- Work as part of a wider Data Governance team to develop clients’ data governance policies and frameworks and support their implementation and rollout.
- Apply techniques related to privacy data management, data quality, data catalogue and lineage, and responsible use of data to customers’ business contexts.
Requirements
- Independently and reliably implemented privacy‑first data management solutions.
- Consultancy background.
- Provided solution oversight and mentoring to junior Data Privacy Strategists / Data Analysts.
- Shaped, estimated, and planned implementation backlog items for Data Privacy solutions based on use cases.
- Implemented standards and best practices for data security and privacy, including the implementation of data management tools.
- Analyzed upcoming data privacy regulations and trends and developed solutions in response.
- Understood the data privacy and sovereignty challenges in an AI‑enabled business context and provided appropriately scaled solutions that enable business without overly burdensome restrictions.
- Skilled in awareness raising and training within privacy, able to speak to a variety of stakeholders to establish a positive vision of data privacy.
- Awareness of standard data management solution architectures and design patterns across an enterprise.
- Awareness of data governance approaches, frameworks, and good practice.
- Experienced with the use of external and reference data within enterprises and commercial constructs attached to them.
- Certification as a practitioner in one or more data privacy regulations.
