Machine Tool Engineer

The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Machine Tool Engineer to join our client\’s team. You’ll be responsible for supporting existing machines in the field, diagnosing and correcting electrical/PLC software issues, and assisting with retrofits and upgrades.
While primarily based in Brighouse, you’ll also travel to customer sites across the UK (with occasional overnight stays) to provide hands-on support, commissioning, and project work.

The Ideal Machine Tool Engineer:

Time-served / recognised engineering apprenticeship (NVQ/HNC/HND or higher)

Skilled in fault diagnosis of electrical and PLC software issues on CNC and manual machine tools

Confident with Heidenhain (esp. 620/640), Siemens & Fanuc PLC logic – interrogation, modification, and programming

Capable of reading hydraulic/electrical schematics and carrying out practical hands-on work

Able to work independently or as part of a small team

Organised, customer-focused, and willing to travel/stay away as required
