Crane Engineer
Salary: £37,500 – £47,500Location: North East EnglandAre you an experienced Electrical or Mechanical Engineer looking for a new challenge? We are seeking skilled Crane Technicians to join our client\’s expanding team in the North East. This role involves carrying out inspections, repairs, maintenance, and modernisation of overhead cranes, hoists, and lifting equipment.
About the Role:
- Perform service, repair, and maintenance of overhead cranes and lifting equipment
- Work with electrical and/or mechanical components in various customer locations
- Travel within the local area and across the UK as required
Essential Requirements:
- Background in electrical, mechanical, or electromechanical engineering
- Current UK driving licence
- Ability to work safely at heights with a positive attitude towards health and safety
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required
- Physically fit and able to work at heights
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Knowledge of overhead crane and hoist maintenance and inspections
- Electrical experience with 3-phase 415VAC motors, contactor control circuits, and frequency speed/inverter controls
- Mechanical experience with drive couplings, brakes, and reduction gearboxes
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities
- Experience with industrial radio control systems
- Familiarity with vacuum lifting equipment, manipulators, electro magnets, or other material handling equipment
- C1 driving licence beneficial
