Position Overview
Shift Process Engineer (Etch), Day Shift (Sun-Thu). Etch engineer needed to support GaAs fab in 24x7 production operation environment. Scope of work involves sustaining and improving processes in compound semiconductor etch, dielectric etch, dry strip, wet etch, wet clean, wet strip, and lift‑off. The engineer will implement and improve process control using FDC and SPC methods, work with the team to drive tool capability improvements, reduce defects, PCM failures, and the number of held lots, and disposition held lots in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Sustain and improve etch processes.
- Improve etch process control.
- Improve tool/process outlier detection using FDC and SPC methods.
- Reduce held lots and ensure timely disposition of held lots.
- Define and establish process documentation, including work instructions and process controls.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to support required KPIs, goals, and objectives.
Required Experience and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering.
- Process engineering knowledge and hands‑on experience.
- Core engineering principles; detail oriented and metrics driven.
- Ability to effectively communicate with other teams.
- Team player with strong process understanding and process improvement capabilities.
- Ability to troubleshoot quickly and find root cause using methodologies such as Six Sigma.
- Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to resolve lot issues.
- Work effectively in a fast‑paced production environment.

Compensation and Benefits
Typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD$64,400–$118,200 per year. Pay will depend on experience, skills, training, education, business needs, market demands, responsibilities, and location.
