A highly respected London main contractor is looking to appoint an MEP Quantity Surveyor or Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor to strengthen its commercial team. This is an opportunity to join a contractor that has built its reputation on quality project delivery, strong relationships and long-term staff retention. The business employs around 150 people, with over 40 staff having worked there for more than a decade, which says a lot about the working environment and happiness of staff within the company. If you are a Building Services QS who enjoys working on technically interesting projects and wants to be part of a collaborative contractor with a strong pipeline of work, this is a role worth exploring.
The Company delivers new build, refurbishment and complex fit-out projects across sectors including:
- Commercial
- Super-Prime Residential
- Hospitality
- Leisure
- Education
- Government
Projects typically range between £1m and £30m and often involve technically challenging refurbishment schemes, including listed buildings and complex urban projects. Unlike many contractors who chase turnover, this business is selective about the projects and clients it works with, focusing on partnerships where quality delivery and collaboration are valued.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out:
- Around 150 staff with excellent retention – over 40 employees have been with the business for more than 10 years
- Strong order book and long-term project pipeline
- Selective approach to projects and clients – quality over volume
- Strong reputation across the London construction market
- Average supplier payment around 21 days, which is rare in the industry
- Open and collaborative office environment with hands-on directors
- Interesting and technically challenging projects
The company also puts genuine effort into maintaining a positive culture, including quarterly company update brochures that keep staff informed about business performance and projects, and an annual black-tie Christmas event for employees.
The Role: You will be responsible for the commercial management of building services packages across a range of projects and will work closely with project teams, consultants and the supply chain. This role offers involvement from pre-construction through to completion, particularly on two-stage tender and negotiated projects. Building services packages include: Mechanical services (including Public Health).
