About Skyscanner
Everyone loves travelling, but planning is not without its challenges. That’s why we’ve spent 20 years building tools that turn travel-planning chaos into a breeze. Today, around 100 million travellers count on us every month to skip the whole "47 browser tabs open" phase and find flights, cars, and hotels quickly and easily.
Joining Skyscanner means becoming part of a global brand that’s striving to become the planet’s go‑to travel hack accessible for all. Our vision? To be the world’s number one travel ally. Now, we’re on the lookout for a Senior Finance Executive to help us bring that vision to even more travellers.
About the role
- Hands‑on and impactful: We’re looking for a Senior Accounts Payable Analyst to join us on a 12-month fixed‑term contract, covering maternity leave in our Finance Tribe. This is a proper sleeves‑rolled‑up role where you’ll keep the AP engine running smoothly while also spotting smarter, better ways of doing things.
- Operational with opportunity: You’ll own key AP processes end‑to‑end, balancing high‑quality BAU delivery with continuous improvement. There’s real scope here to influence how the function operates during a period of transformation.
- Trusted and autonomous: This role suits someone who’s comfortable using judgement, prioritising what matters, and improving outcomes rather than simply ticking boxes.
What you’ll be doing
- Delivering excellence: Processing accounts payable invoices accurately and on time across a multi‑entity, multi‑currency setup.
- Owning the close: Supporting month‑end and year‑end activities, including accruals, prepayments, reconciliations and reporting.
- Keeping things clean: Maintaining supplier master data with strong controls, approvals and audit trails in place.
- Partnering widely: Working closely with teams like Procurement, Product, Engineering and Commercial to resolve queries and onboard suppliers smoothly.
- Working smartly: Using AI‑enabled and automated AP tools (OCR, automated coding, helpdesks) – and applying judgement when exceptions pop up.
- Improving how we work: Contributing to process simplification, automation and system enhancements that boost accuracy and scalability.
- Protecting the business: Adhering to financial controls, audit requirements and policies to safeguard cash and minimise risk.
About you
- AP‑experienced: You bring solid experience in Accounts Payable or shared services finance, ideally in a fast‑moving, multi‑entity environment.
- Detail‑driven: Accuracy and timeliness matter to you – and it shows in your work.
- Month‑end ready: You’re comfortable juggling priorities and deadlines, especially when month‑end rolls around.
- Tech‑curious: You enjoy using systems, automation and AI tools to improve outcomes (Workday or similar ERPs are a big plus).
- Confident communicator: You build strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers, and tackle issues head‑on.
- Problem‑solving minded: You take ownership, spot issues early and find practical solutions.
- Excel‑savvy: You’re confident with Excel and happy getting into the detail when needed.
