Role overview

We are recruiting an Intermediate Civil Engineer to join our Bristol (UK). This role is designed to:

  • strengthen civil/foundations expertise
  • improve our ability to challenge designs and studies (quality, risk, credibility)
  • support project teams with UK standards and site realities
  • help reduce PM overload by providing structured technical civil support, including site visits and continuity through the project lifecycle

Key responsibilities

  • Civil design support & technical reviews
    • Review and challenge civil deliverables across project stages (early design to construction documentation), including:
      • foundations concepts and assumptions (PV structures / BESS)
      • earthworks / grading, drainage, access roads and general civils scope
      • design and calculation reports of structural parts (concrete and steel)
      • constructability and risk identification
    • Provide clear technical feedback, comments and recommendations to internal teams and external partners (clients/EPCs) on projects in Europe.
  • Site engineering & project follow-up (UK travel)
    • Participate in and/or lead site visits (development, pre-construction and construction phases).
    • Produce structured site visit reports (findings, risks, actions, recommendations).
    • Support construction follow-up and quality checks related to civils (as required by projects).
  • Interfaces & collaboration
    • Interface with internal expert in France and external stakeholders (civil designers, geotechnical providers, EPCs, client technical teams).
    • Work closely with Project Managers to provide timely civil expertise.
    • Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal ways of working (templates, review checklists, lessons learned).

Profile required

  • Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 3–8 years of experience in civil engineering (infrastructure/energy/industrial projects).
  • Ability to review, challenge and synthesize technical information.
  • Report-writing skills: able to produce clear, actionable deliverables.
  • Working in a Owner's Engineer environment with multiple projects.
  • Good knowledge of UK standards.
  • Willingness to travel for regular site visits.
  • Experience supporting client-facing technical discussions.

Nice-to-have skills

  • Experience in utility-scale solar PV and/or BESS projects.
  • Exposure to geotechnical topics (ground conditions, foundation adaptation, interpretation of ground investigation results).
  • Knowledge of UK highways / street works constraints (useful for access roads, consents and site interfaces).
