Skyral combines AI, advanced modelling and simulation technology, and deep domain expertise to help organisations make faster, more confident decisions in complex environments. We work with government, defence and enterprise customers to solve difficult real-world problems, combining innovative technology with the pace and ambition of a growth-stage company.

Skyral is entering its next phase of growth and we are looking for an exceptional commercial leader to build and lead our Business Development organisation. As Chief Growth Officer, you will own Skyral's business development strategy across government, defence and enterprise. You will be responsible for building a strong and predictable pipeline, leading and developing our Business Development team, and ensuring we have the focus and commercial discipline required to deliver our growth ambitions. This is a hands-on leadership role. Alongside leading the team, you will remain closely involved in our most important customers and opportunities - building relationships, shaping deals, supporting negotiations and helping the team to win. You will work in lockstep with the Co-CEO and wider executive team to execute Skyral's go-to-market strategy and ensure our commercial priorities are aligned with our product, technology and delivery strategy.

What You'll Be Responsible For

  • Lead Skyral's Growth Strategy
    • Define and execute Skyral's growth and go-to-market strategy across government, defence and enterprise.
    • Translate company strategy into clear commercial priorities, target accounts and growth plans.
    • Build a balanced portfolio of near-term opportunities and longer-term strategic growth plays.
    • Identify new customers, markets, partnerships and routes to market.
    • Ensure the business focuses its time and resources on the opportunities with the greatest strategic and commercial value.
  • Lead the Team and Growth Performance
    • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team of senior Business Development professionals.
    • Set clear objectives, accountabilities and performance expectations, while actively supporting the team on customer strategy, opportunity development and deal execution.
    • Own the company-wide sales pipeline, ensuring it provides an accurate and evidence-based view of our commercial position.
    • Establish strong discipline around qualification, CRM management, forecasting and opportunity progression.
    • Run an effective growth cadence, using data to identify risks, unblock opportunities and drive action.
    • Provide the Co-CEO with clear insight into forecast performance, pipeline health, risks and opportunities.
  • Create and Win Strategic Opportunities
    • Personally originate, shape and help close Skyral's opportunities.
    • Build trusted relationships with customers, partners and decision makers across our target markets.
    • Support the team in developing strong account, capture, commercial and negotiation strategies.
    • Ensure Skyral is positioned early and effectively in priority opportunities.
    • Develop strategic partnerships and routes to market that strengthen our proposition and extend our reach.
    • Represent Skyral externally at customer meetings, industry events and strategic forums.
  • Drive GTM Execution Across the Business
    • Work closely with Product, Engineering, Delivery, Finance, and Marketing to pursue and deliver the right opportunities.
    • Bring customer and market insight into product strategy, proposition development and investment decisions.
    • Ensure the right internal teams are engaged early enough to shape credible, deliverable and commercially attractive solutions.
    • Govern the appropriate qualification, bid/no-bid, capture and commercial governance process.
    • Balance commercial ambition with sound judgement around delivery risk, cost and strategic fit.

What We're Looking For

  • A proven track record of delivering significant revenue growth in technology, software, defence, government or another complex environment.
  • Significant experience leading, coaching and developing successful Business Development or sales teams.
  • A genuinely hands-on leadership style - comfortable setting strategy, managing performance and personally helping to bring in and close opportunities.
  • Strong commercial judgement and experience managing complex, high-value sales involving multiple stakeholders and long sales cycles.
  • Experience of pipeline management and forecasting, with a focus on accurate data, clear accountability and disciplined execution.
  • Exceptional communication, influencing and negotiation skills, with credibility at C-suite and senior government levels.
  • Strong strategic thinking combined with the pace, pragmatism and resilience required in a growing company.
  • A collaborative approach and proven ability to work effectively across Product, Engineering, Delivery, Finance, Marketing and senior leadership teams.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to meet customers, partners and the wider team.

What We Can Offer You:

  • Unlimited Paid Holiday - we value and support the need to maintain a strong work-life balance.
  • Hybrid Working - we understand that a one-size-fits all approach doesn’t suit everyone.
  • Flexible Working Hours - We’re not bound by the 9-to-5 model. Collaborate with your manager on determining a work schedule that suits you.
