Our clients are global leaders in providing cutting-edge tech to the travel industry, and due to growth, they are looking for a Technical Architect with top-notch design skills, someone who is not afraid to get into technical details and is an excellent communicator. You will work alongside the global team of Project Managers, Business Analysts, Technical Leads and Test Leads to enhance functionality, add new features and improve non-functional specifications. You will be customer-facing and support them as they implement the product and bring it into production. If you are driven and enjoy working in fast-paced environments, then this role is for you! You will have a front-row seat to how the travel industry works today and help them stay ahead of the curve. Our client's partners are the best-of-breed content and payment providers, so you will get to work with the best in the industry at every level.
Responsibilities:
- Architect and develop solutions with the Engineering teams.
- Translate business requirements into system-level design and detailed technical architecture documents.
- Take a leadership role within the implementation team to deliver our product per customer requirements, driving architectural decisions and best practices.
- Maintain a strong understanding of industry standards and collaborate with fellow team leaders on the prioritization and execution of ongoing platform improvement initiatives.
- Work with our Operations team to analyse the performance of our systems in a production environment and evaluate enhancements to the operation of our product for performance and cost benefits.
- Ensure all non-functional requirements are being met.
- Identify and implement development environment improvements.
- Contribute to the long-term development of our product suite.
- Identify opportunities for and drive Continuous Improvement activities.
- Provide consultancy services to our customers as they implement our product.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience as a Technical Architect, Technical Lead or Software Architect.
- Hands-on software development experience is a must.
- In addition, e-commerce (retail) industry experience or experience in a high transaction volume or mission-critical system.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Design experience, including knowledge about Technical Architecture, Logical Architecture, Business Architecture and Data Architecture.
- Strong communication skills.
- Customer-facing experience in previous roles is an advantage.
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
- Experience delivering high-quality customer-facing design documentation.
- Be a self-starter and have a strong problem-solving aptitude.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Knowledge in web-based systems architecture, service-based architecture, enterprise application architecture.
- Expert in some or all of the following technologies: Java, J2EE, SOA, JBoss, Tomcat, JDBC, SOAP, REST, OOD/OOA & Cloud (AWS & Azure).
- Experience working with database systems – Oracle, MongoDB.
