Responsibilities include conducting outreach work for the identification of vulnerable children for PSS centers registration and case management for children with specific needs. Community child protection activities are carried out within the working area with adults and children. Awareness sessions about child rights and psychosocial support are conducted through CMS with Returnees, IDPs, and conflict-affected populations targeted by the project to ensure a better understanding of standards on child protection in emergencies (CPiE).
Key tasks involve:
- Collecting information and maintaining individual records (follow-up forms, individual files, etc.).
- Developing good working relations with other aid agencies and authorities in the working areas.
- Regularly collecting information regarding case studies and success stories to highlight positive changes.
- Maintaining good relations with communities while being sensitive to their cultures and traditions.
- Identifying community volunteers and community ToTs in close coordination with community elders and Tdh selection criteria.
- Training community ToTs on CPiE by preparing all necessary training materials and documents.
- Referring eligible children to specialized services/external service providers.
- Attending all required internal and external trainings and meetings.
- Reporting weekly to the Line Manager on the progress of activities.
- Implementing an action plan and methodology for child protection interventions with beneficiaries.
- Avoiding dangerous mobility situations and facilitating secure moves for children.
- Identifying support services, resources, and organisations for protection in the intervention zone and creating a reference directory on child protection.
- Ensuring no harm is done to any child during work.
- Collecting data and maintaining records on the children database shared with the Data Clerk.
- Becoming involved in community life to influence local decision-makers regarding children's vulnerability.
Case management involves:
- Implementing CMS to address the protection concerns of IDPs, Returnees, and conflict-affected children and their families.
- Developing capacities to maintain or restore self-reliance and help beneficiaries fit into society.
- Deciding on intervention methods with beneficiaries and their families.
- Taking actions to prevent or overcome problems faced by beneficiaries and their families.
- Collecting facts and data on each child's situation and filling in individual files.
- Analysing and evaluating facts and data.
- Recording, notifying, and referring all types of detected abuse.
- Taking appropriate steps to bring relief and protect children.
- Deciding on services to provide in the child's best interests.
- Identifying and mobilising useful external resources for service provision.
- Directing interventions towards appropriate and individualised responses for children's reintegration into the community.
- Developing activities linked to the psychosocial monitoring of supported children.
- Ensuring confidentiality of data.
- Developing follow-up plans for youngsters reintegrating into public schools.
- Conducting networking visits to other organisations for referrals when needed.
- Assessing the level of reintegration and closing cases.

Qualifications:
- Graduated from Social Science or any relevant faculty.
- 2 years of working experience in a similar position with national or international organisations in Afghanistan.
- Fluency in oral and written communication in English, including representation, liaison, and negotiation skills in Pashto and Dari.
- Computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
- Excellent understanding of the region and its cultural aspects.
- Strong networking skills with the ability to engage various stakeholders effectively.
- Capability to take initiatives and demonstrate excellent negotiation skills.
- Proficient in report writing.
- Well-versed in the socio-political and cultural context of Afghanistan.
