Our client are a leading provider of temporary works solutions for construction projects in London. They are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Design Engineer to join the team and contribute to the development and implementation of innovative and safe solutions for their clients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide geotechnical design solutions and support for construction projects, including the design of foundations, retaining walls, slope stability, and ground improvement solutions.
  • Work closely with the design team, liaising with clients, site teams, and external consultants.
  • Undertake geotechnical design calculations and analysis to develop and propose innovative and safe solutions.
  • Provide technical support to the design team and site teams.
  • Conduct site visits to assess ground conditions and provide technical advice on design and construction issues.
  • Liaise with clients, external consultants, and contractors to ensure design solutions are integrated into the overall project design.
  • Prepare technical reports and design drawings to support the design process.
  • Assist with the development of company design standards and procedures.
  • Manage own workload and deliver projects within agreed timescales and budgets.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
  • Industry experience in geotechnical design from either a consultancy or contractor in-house design team.
  • Experience in the design of foundations, retaining walls, slope stability, and ground improvement solutions.
  • Proficient in the use of geotechnical design software packages such as Plaxis, Oasys and WALLAP.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work collaboratively with colleagues, clients, and external consultants.
  • Able to work independently, manage own workload, and deliver projects to timescales and budgets.
