Consultant Psychiatrist - Adult Neurodevelopmental Services – ADHD Medication Titration Lead

Reports to: Clinical Director

Salary: Competitive

Location: Basingstoke - Hybrid (with occasional travel to office as required)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Skylight Psychiatry is a CQC-registered independent healthcare provider delivering specialist neurodevelopmental assessment and treatment services across England. We provide evidence-based, person-centred care for individuals with ADHD, Autism and related neurodevelopmental conditions through digitally enabled clinical pathways supported by multidisciplinary teams and robust clinical governance frameworks. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our clinical team and provide senior clinical leadership within our ADHD medication pathway.

Role Purpose

The Consultant Psychiatrist is a senior clinical role responsible for delivering high-quality adult neurodevelopmental care and providing medical oversight within the service. The post holder will play a key role in supporting and developing our ADHD medication titration pathway

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing senior clinical oversight for complex or escalated cases within the pathway
  • Providing formal clinical supervision and oversight to Specialty Doctors and other non-consultant grade clinicians
  • Leading and participating in multidisciplinary team meetings and clinical discussions
  • Contributing to clinical governance activities including audit, incident review and quality improvement initiatives
  • Supporting the ongoing development of clinical pathways and service delivery
  • Expected clinical activity is running one clinic a week to review complex patients or escalated cases, alongside associated documentation, supervision, governance and service development activities.

Person Specification

Essential

  • GMC registered Consultant Psychiatrist
  • CCT in General Adult Psychiatry or Learning Disability Psychiatry
  • Section 12 approval (or eligibility)
  • Demonstrable experience in ADHD assessment and medication management
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management and clinical governance
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong communication skills and digital literacy

Desirable

  • Experience working within neurodevelopmental assessment services
  • Experience contributing to service development or pathway design
  • Understanding of CQC regulatory frameworks
  • Leadership, medical management or quality improvement training
