About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Flying Loadmaster to manage aircraft loading and offloading operations across global airport locations. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant cargo handling—particularly concerning weight and balance calculation and the correct handling of dangerous goods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage aircraft turnaround cycles, coordinating with load control, ramp services, cargo handlers, and flight crew to optimize load sequences and operational performance.
  • Secure the cargo efficiently and safely, providing final confirmation to the flight crew, and act as the ground operations representative during servicing.
  • Develop and deliver load plans within applicable weight and balance systems, providing updates to Flight Crew as needed.
  • Support the Chief Loadmaster in overseeing ground handling operations and loading procedures.
  • Train ground service providers in the safe loading practices for aircraft.
  • Review and communicate requirements for special loads, working with handling agents to ensure pre-notification, approval, and clarity of instructions.
  • Periodically create manual loading instructions and load sheets to maintain operational readiness in backup procedures.
  • Act as flight manager for ad-hoc or special operations, prioritizing safety at all times.
  • Serve as Ground Security Coordinator for operations within the United States or its territories, as per regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant experience in flight planning, ground operations, and cargo handling.
  • Proficiency in cargo planning and organization, with strong communication skills—both written and spoken.
  • Excellent command of English.
  • In-depth knowledge of the specific aircraft types in operation, and how to apply accurate weight and balance calculations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of EU aviation ground and air operations regulations, as well as Dangerous Goods regulations.
  • Demonstrated capability in working both autonomously and as part of a team, including leadership experience.
  • Flexibility to work variable shift patterns across different time zones, including unsocial hours and frequent travel overseas.
