SUPPORT WORKER/HEALTHCARE ASSISTANT with MENTAL CARE EXPERIENCE DAY/NIGHT SHIFTS, 12‑HOURS SHIFT
Job Types: Full‑time, Permanent
We are only able to accept applicants who have the right to work in the UK and live within a commutable distance to the location of the job role and able to work full‑time 33‑44 hours per week.
The Nursing home offers a range of specialist care for residents, ranging from Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Schizophrenia care to care for stroke victims. Successful applicants will have 1‑2 years experience preferably in a similar role.
Salary: £12.81 per hour. No sponsorship provided!

Work Environment
This position is crucial in the healthcare system, as Mental Health Care Assistants play a vital role in helping individuals manage their mental health conditions and improve their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Provide personal care and support to patients, including assistance with daily living activities such as eating, bathing, and dressing.
- Therapeutic Engagement: Engage with patients in therapeutic activities to promote recovery and alleviate distress. This includes identifying factors that may increase agitation and employing de‑escalation techniques when necessary.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Observe and document patients' conditions, including any changes in behavior or mood, and report these to the nursing staff.
- Supportive Environment: Create a safe and compassionate environment for patients, ensuring their dignity and privacy are respected at all times.
- Collaboration: Work alongside a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, psychiatrists, and social workers, to implement care plans and support patients effectively.
- Crisis Intervention: Recognize signs of distress or crisis in patients and respond appropriately to ensure their safety and well‑being.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in a care role, experience with dementia, brain injury and nursing home is desirable.
- Certifications: Holding a Care Certificate or equivalent is typically desirable.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Cheerful, compassionate, respectful and caring approach, and good communication and interpersonal skills. Good understanding of the needs of vulnerable adults and the desire to make a positive contribution to the lives of others. Ability to work on own initiative.
