We are looking for enthusiastic applicants for a Support Worker for our services based in the West Yorkshire area: Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield, Castleford, WF10, Normanton and other small homes.

Shifts available: currently have day and night shift patterns available, working on a rolling rota.

Pay rate is £12.21 per hour, overtime +£1 per hour.

Experience required: at least 6 months as a healthcare assistant or Support Worker in a care home or supported living location.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable support worker experience, working with service users who have been homeless and/or have complex needs including mental health, substance misuse, and domestic abuse.
  • Able to assess service users' needs in order to plan and deliver effective and engaging support.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Able to manage risk, ensuring that all procedures are followed, and risk is managed appropriately.
  • Able to support service users in volunteering and community work involving group activities.
  • Flexible to work weekends on a rota basis.
  • Access to a vehicle is desirable; ability to drive is also desirable.
  • Experience in care homes is advantageous.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide compassionate support and assistance to clients in their homes, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation, medication administration, and personal care.
  • Monitor and document clients' health and well-being, reporting any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
  • Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
  • Maintain clear communication with clients and their families, fostering a supportive environment.
