Night Registered Nurse

Only UK based nurses with experience in Nursing Home. One year UK Registered Nurse experience is mandatory!

Full-time, 36-48 hours per week. Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, 8pm-8am. Pay rate is £20 per hour.

Location: North Shields

About the home: This Care Home has 64 large, single, ensuite rooms that allow residents to enjoy as much privacy as they'd like at all times. Our experienced staff are fully qualified (qualifications include Health & Social Care levels 2-3, Registered Mental Health Nurses and more) to look after residents with dementia, tailoring their care to each individual's need. Our staff are also equipped to deal with a variety of health issues, such as:

Nurse Job Role: To be responsible for the assessment of the care needs of patients and the development, implementation, and evaluation of care plans under the direction of the Head Nurse, thereby ensuring that a high standard of care is delivered.

Responsibilities: We are looking for candidates who will be able to ensure that nursing care is delivered in accordance with our policies and procedures. You'll report directly to the Registered Care Manager and your key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining accurate, complete health care records and reports
  • Administering medications to patients and monitoring them for side effects/reactions
  • Prescribing assistive medical devices and related treatments
  • Supervising, developing and teaching other care team members
  • Monitoring standards of care delivered to our residents
  • Ensuring all Day staff on your shift contribute to the best of their ability to the efficient running of the Home
  • Ensuring resident needs are being met by interacting with them, resolving any problems where appropriate
  • Reporting any ill-health amongst residents and making requests for GP/Professional visits when needed
  • Preparing, updating and evaluating Resident Care Plans
  • General Nursing work and personal care as appropriate
  • Attending relevant staff meetings
  • Advising the Registered Care Manager of any incidents/accidents
  • Ensuring there is a clear and concise handover at every shift

Essential Criteria: Previous working experience within a similar position. The ideal candidate will be:

  • Flexible and used to working on own initiative

  • Able and willing to undergo further appropriate training
  • A good communicator with good oral and written skills and able to undertake administrative duties within the role
  • Aware of current Health and Safety Procedure

Requirements:

  • The right to work in the UK
  • An experienced Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD). The service welcomes applications from all General Nurses, Mental Health Nurses and Learning Disability Nurses
  • Registered with a valid NMC Pin and full eligibility to live and have right to work in the UK
  • A newly qualified nurse ready to take the leap from training into your first role
