Registered General Nurse for our Nursing Home, a 65-bed facility. Sponsorship provided!
Available Hours: 36 hours per week
Pay rate: £21.25 per hour
Location: Leeds
Located in the centre of Leeds, our Care Home is a purpose-built, 62-room care home with an excellent outdoor area for residents to enjoy. Staff offer 24/7 nursing care, 24/7 residential care, end of life care, mental health care and physical disability care. Length of stay at this care home includes long-term stay and respite care, giving residents the attention and support they need for however long is required.
About the Role:
- Assess, plan and deliver nursing care which takes account of patient choice and wishes, acting as the patient's named nurse.
- Accurately observe and engage with patients to assess their needs and evaluate their progress.
- Monitor and review Nursing Care plans.
- Evaluate and respond to changes in patient condition and needs.
- Deal proactively and effectively with suggestions and complaints from patients and their families/carers.
- Contribute to a team approach to patient care in conjunction with all members of the Multi-Disciplinary team.
- Participate in regular clinical and non-clinical meetings and attend other meetings as requested.
- Prioritise nursing duties and delegate appropriately within the shift co-ordination framework, working as nurse in charge as required.
- Develop and maintain a good professional relationship with patients, colleagues and visitors.
- Help to promote and maintain an environment conducive to meeting the needs of the patient/relatives and carers.
- Participate in clinical supervision and reflective practice at least monthly.
- Work in accordance with safeguarding adult and children policies and requirements.
- Ensure the requirements of the Mental Health, Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Standards are met.
- Plan, implement, and supervise the provision of quality care.
- Maintain the required medical documentation.
- Uphold residents' rights to privacy, dignity and choice.
- Report any ill health among the residents and request professional visits when necessary.
- Familiarise yourself with, and strictly adhere to, company policy and procedure and Care Inspectorate guidelines.
- Abide by the Nursing and Midwifery Council's (NMC) code of professional conduct.
Main Requirements:
- Must be a registered nurse (current PIN number with NMC).
- Right to work in the UK.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine desire to work with the elderly.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations.
- Knowledgeable about assessment, admission and discharge processes.
- Knowledgeable of the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
