Your Responsibilities as a Registered Mental Health Nurse

  • Administer medications and monitor residents’ health status.
  • Work alongside trained CHAPS staff to support safe and effective medication administration and best practice in medicines management.
  • Conduct clinical assessments, risk assessments, and care planning for individuals with mental health needs.
  • Apply de‑escalation and therapeutic communication techniques to manage challenging behaviours safely.
  • Promote recovery, independence, and emotional wellbeing through person‑centred care approaches.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient progress.
  • Assist in the development of individualised care plans tailored to each resident’s needs.
