At our Supported Living accommodation, we provide a specialist service that is tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual we work with. Due to the expansion of the business, we have exciting opportunities within our new homes working with clients on a daily basis. We require the individual to be flexible and enthusiastic and be keen to provide a high standard of care.
We will offer a high level of management support, full training provided, flexibility in your work/home life balance, and provide a rewarding career with an emphasis on our residents. Pay rate is £12.21 per hour. Overtime available - paid at £13.21 per hour.
Location: West Yorkshire area, a few locations available, including Normanton, Castleford, Wakefield, Rothwell, and Crigglestone.
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time only
Shifts patterns: We have a two-week shift pattern available consisting of one week 3 shifts, next one 4 shifts:
- Week A – Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday, 12-hour shifts
- Week B – Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, 12-hour shifts
Opportunity to complete either NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Social Care (through work-based learning) and further progression opportunities.
Shifts: Waking Nights 19.45pm-8am

Requirements:
- It is essential to have demonstrable support worker experience, working with service users who have been homeless and/or have complex needs including mental health, substance misuse, and domestic abuse.
- You must be able to assess service users' needs in order to plan and deliver effective and engaging support.
- You will have strong organizational and communication skills both written and verbally.
- You will be able to manage risk, ensuring that all procedures are followed, and risk is managed appropriately.
- You will be able to support service users in volunteering and community work involving group activities.
- You must be flexible to work weekends on a rota basis.
- You may on occasion be required to travel, so access to a vehicle is desirable.
- Ability to drive is desirable.

Responsibilities/Duties:
- Provide compassionate support and assistance to clients in their homes, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation, medication administration, and personal care.
- Monitor and document clients' health and well-being, reporting any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Maintain clear communication with clients and their families, fostering a supportive environment.
- Administer medications following care plans and regulations to maintain safety and compliance.
- Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts for safe patient transfers and mobility assistance.
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare standards and privacy laws.
- Familiarity with medication administration, care plans, and patient monitoring protocols.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using appropriate techniques or equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or other special needs.
- Understanding of regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information.
- Capable of working independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team in fast-paced settings.
