Registered General Nurse- West of London in Harrow on the Hill

Registered Nurse with experience or newly qualified.

Full-time nursing home based in West of London.

Pay rate is £19-£20.5 per hour.

Working as an RGN Nurse (Registered General Nurse) means:

• Assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records.
• Administer nursing care to ill, injured, and long-term service users.
• Behave in a professional and discreet manner at all times and in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code.
• Be competent and confident in managing people with long term health conditions.
• Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate interventions/treatments for service users with complex needs.
• Proactively identify, diagnose and manage treatment plans for service users (as appropriate).
• Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist service users in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care.
• Recognise and work within your own competence level.
• Produce accurate, contemporaneous and complete records of service user interaction and consultation, consistent with legislation, liability and policies.
• Support, manage and guide support workers.
• Continual personal development to develop oneself and the role.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Provide direct patient care including wound dressing, bathing, feeding and monitoring vital signs.
• Document residents' health status and maintain accurate medical records.
• Communicate with residents, family members and healthcare team about their condition and progress.
• Provide emotional support and therapeutic communication to residents and their families.
• Supervise and train nursing assistants and junior nursing staff.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including sanitation and infection control.
• Coordinate with other healthcare professionals, such as doctors, therapists, and dietitians.

Requirements:

• Prior experience as a Registered Nurse is desirable.
• Experience managing the elderly.
• Demonstrate an understanding and application of relevant legislation in relation to the role.
• Able to deliver nursing care in a clinical environment.
• Excellent skills and knowledge of the job role.
• Valid NMC UK PIN number without restrictions.
• Proven experience in clinical settings is desirable.
• Ability to communicate well at all levels is essential along with a flexible approach.
• Team player.
• Genuine interest in working within a care home setting.
• Clear DBS and two satisfactory references.
• Up-to-date knowledge in area of practice.
• Awareness of NMC Code of Accountability.
