Day and Night Support Worker role for a four-bedroom care facility is a semi-detached house which supports individuals with learning disabilities, autism and mental health issues, based in Castleford. Sponsorship is not provided! The new Home is situated in Castleford in the borough of Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

Full-time contract, 42 hours per week. Full induction provided. Experience in a similar role is mandatory! Day or Night role available. Long shifts, 12-hour shifts. Usually the shifts will be from Monday to Sunday, one week 3 long shifts per week, next one 4 long shifts per week over rota.

About you:

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience in a similar role
  • Willingness to learn
  • You must be currently resident in the UK
  • You must have the right to work in the UK
  • You must be friendly and well-organised with an excellent work ethic

What are your duties as a Support Worker:

  • Ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting and assisting Residents when required with all aspects of daily living
  • Assist Residents in all aspects of their care needs, e.g. physical, emotional and spiritual
  • Provide supervision and attention when needed, ensuring Residents retain their comfort and dignity
  • Observe care planning needs for Residents and complete daily records as instructed
  • Assist in the framework of social activities by interacting with Residents and helping them continue with hobbies and activities in the Care Centre
  • Report on the well-being of Residents
  • Clean and maintain equipment used by Residents and Relatives e.g. wheelchairs, hearing aids, spectacles etc.
