We are currently recruiting Registered Nurses for night shifts with experience in dementia care, Alzheimer’s, schizophrenia and related long‑term conditions. The ideal candidate will deliver high‑quality, personalised care that promotes choice, dignity, and respect.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Administer nursing care to ill, injured, and long‑term service users.
  • Act professionally and discreetly, adhering to the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code.
  • Provide competent care to people with long‑term health conditions.
  • Diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions for service users with complex needs.
  • Proactively identify and manage treatment plans where appropriate.
  • Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiating effective emergency care.
  • Recognise and work within your competence level.
  • Produce accurate, contemporaneous, and complete records of service user interaction consistent with legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Support, manage and guide support workers on a daily basis.
  • Engage in continual personal development to enhance your professional skills.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Provide direct patient care including wound dressing, bathing, feeding, and monitoring vital signs.
  • Document residents’ health status and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Communicate with residents’ family members and healthcare team about condition and progress.
  • Provide emotional support and therapeutic communication to residents and their families.
  • Supervise and train nursing assistants and junior nursing staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including sanitation and infection control.
  • Coordinate with other healthcare professionals such as doctors, therapists and dietitians.

Qualifications

  • UK Registered Nurse (RGN) or RMN with experience in a care home setting caring for older people.
  • Strong passion for delivering the highest standard of care and support for residents.
  • Ability to work well within a team and lead staff members.
  • Active UK NMC PIN with no restrictions.
  • Clear DBS and 2 satisfactory references.
  • Proficient in patient care practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of human anatomy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.

Working Conditions

  • Full time, 36 hours per week. Night shifts.
  • Pay rate is £21 per hour. Paid breaks available.
  • The home is a 105‑bed facility located in Halifax, designed to meet a wide range of needs, including those living with mental health and physical disabilities.
