Ideally located just minutes from Bradford city centre, the Care Home provides residential and nursing care for frail, elderly members of the community, including those with dementia. With 80 en‑suite rooms and a qualified nursing team available 24 hours a day, our goal is to deliver person‑centred, high‑quality care that respects each resident as a unique individual.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, and deliver nursing care in partnership with patients and their carers/families, acting as the named nurse.
  • Observe and engage with patients accurately to assess need and evaluate progress.
  • Monitor and review nursing care plans.
  • Respond to changes in patient condition and needs.
  • Proactively manage suggestions and complaints from patients, families, and carers.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and participate in regular clinical and non‑clinical meetings.
  • Prioritise nursing duties and delegate within the shift coordination framework, serving as nurse in charge when required to ensure a safe environment.
  • Maintain professional relationships with patients, colleagues, and visitors, responding promptly and courteously.
  • Promote and maintain an environment conducive to meeting the needs of patients, relatives, and carers.
  • Participate in clinical supervision and reflective practice at least monthly.
  • Work in accordance with safeguarding policies for adults and children.
  • Ensure compliance with the Mental Health, Capacity Act, and Deprivation of Liberty Standards.
  • Plan, implement, and supervise the provision of quality care.
  • Maintain required medical documentation.
  • Uphold residents’ rights to privacy, dignity, and choice.
  • Report any ill health among residents and request professional visits when necessary.
  • Familiarise yourself with company policies, procedures, and Care Inspectorate guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Registered nurse with a current PIN number issued by the NMC.
  • Genuine desire to work with the elderly.
  • Excellent communication skills, including clarity, concision, and active listening.
  • Competence in supervising other staff comfortably and effectively.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities.
  • Calm nature capable of defusing challenging situations.
  • Knowledge of assessment, admission, and discharge processes.
  • Familiarity with the Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, and commitment to working within its codes of practice.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high‑stress situations.
