Skyborne Airline Academy are recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail‑oriented individual to support the day‑to‑day financial operations within the aviation sector. You will play a crucial role in maintaining financial records, supporting month‑end processes, and working collaboratively within a small Finance team.

Responsibilities:

  • Process purchase ledger invoices and expenses + ensure correct Nominal Ledger coding.
  • Process Sales Ledger Invoices.
  • Ensure that all invoices are appropriately approved.
  • Assist with monthly cash flow forecast.
  • Manage regular payment runs and ad‑hoc payments using Online Banking.
  • Process monthly accruals and prepayments journals.
  • Manage monthly intercompany reconciliation.
  • Deal with supplier queries and reconcile supplier statements.
  • Assist with production of month end and year end reconciliations.
  • Process Bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Recommend improvements in efficiencies to systems.
  • Monitor the Finance department email inbox and respond to queries.
  • Assist with external audit queries.

Qualifications:

  • AAT Level 4 qualified (desirable).
  • Highly motivated team player, able to work collaboratively within a small Finance team.
  • Able to embrace organisational values and policies.
  • Experienced in prioritising a high workload and able to flex and adapt during peak periods.
  • Strong experience with accounting packages and small business accounting software.
  • Experienced with Microsoft office, specifically Excel.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to adapt a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Well organised and analytical.
