Our client Sizewell is looking for experienced and reliable LCV mechanics to inspect, maintain, and repair a wide range of LGVs. This role ensures vehicles remain safe, compliant, and fully operational to support production and site efficiency.
Duties:
- Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on LGVs, trailers, and associated fleet vehicles.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults.
- Ensure all work meets DVSA, manufacturer, and company compliance requirements.
- Complete preventative maintenance tasks and defect rectification.
- Replace and repair components such as brakes, clutches, suspension, steering systems, gearboxes, and engines.
- Conduct roadside breakdown repairs when required.
- Maintain accurate job sheets, service records, and inspection documentation.
- Keep the workshop and equipment safe, clean, and well maintained.
Requirements:
- Hands-on technical experience, and the ability to work autonomously or as part of a maintenance team.
- Strong fault finding and diagnostic skills and experience working on LGVs.
- Familiarity with reading schematics and technical diagrams is essential.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment is required.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to vehicle systems and components.
- Previous experience in equipment repair or general maintenance is advantageous.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
Qualifications:
- CSCS & HSE CITB Test
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent).
- City & Guilds Light Vehicle qualifications (desirable).
- MOT Tester licence (beneficial).
- Abrasive Wheels LOTO - Electrical Safety Briefing (or equivalent).
- Full UK driving licence.
