Overview

Production Manager to join the Sky Sports team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee and coordinate all aspects of live sports production, ensuring seamless planning, delivery, and reporting. You’ll work closely with internal teams, external partners, and venue stakeholders to deliver high-quality broadcasts, while maintaining standards for safety, sustainability, and operational excellence.

What You\’ll Do

  • Oversee the production process within Sky Sports, coordinating all production activities and operations.
  • Produce comprehensive, accurate and clear production planning and reporting for all content production, including timetable of events for all stakeholders.
  • Manage production cost within budgeted parameters through effective communication with all stakeholders; ensure financial reporting is up to date and validated for allocated events.
  • Continually report up to date budget information for allocated events to the senior team.
  • Act as main point of contact with suppliers and Sky Production Services to organise all technical and facility requirements.
  • Ensure workflows and protocols are adhered to and consistent across production events.
  • Understand and implement production health and safety requirements; write comprehensive risk assessments to ensure safety and security provisions are in place.
  • Work toward sustainable productions in line with Sky Zero plans.
  • Liaise with Stadium and site owners to ensure necessary arrangements for production, with the ability to influence development for the benefit of production.
  • Maintain operational relationships with governing bodies, external rights holders, clubs, and venue personnel.
  • Communicate project status to internal and external stakeholders through meetings and documentation such as status reports and project timelines.
  • Mentor production team members, particularly those working on your strand.
  • Liaise with Transmission and MCR/Satellite Operations & scheduling during planning and broadcast.
  • Perform site surveys to assess production viability; document outcomes and assess technical capabilities, risk and logistics for a safe working environment.
  • Report and provide regular feedback on suppliers’ service delivery to the senior team.

What You\’ll Bring

  • Proven experience in outside broadcast production and venue operations roles (required).
  • Self-starter with the ability to hit the ground running.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; able to collaborate internally, externally, and across all levels.
  • Strong focus and prioritization skills; consistently does the right thing.
  • Ability to handle conflict with sensitivity and impartiality.
  • Exceptional attention to detail in planning and delivery.
  • Proactive, curious, and solution-focused approach to maintaining high standards for customers.
  • Commitment to working within and contributing to an inclusive and diverse team.
  • Experience with remote production methods and workflows (beneficial).
  • Valid UK driving licence (required).
