Job Description
As Head of Production Operations you will play a crucial role in shaping Sky Sports’ direction from an operational perspective, by leading a team and collaborating across departments within Sky to build & deliver new operational solutions; fostering partnerships & ensuring best in class delivery throughout our leading portfolio of rights. As Head of Production Operations you will play a crucial role in shaping Sky Sports’ direction from an operational perspective, by leading a team and collaborating across departments within Sky to build & deliver new operational solutions; fostering partnerships & ensuring best in class delivery throughout our leading portfolio of rights. This new & dynamic position requires a forward-thinking leader who can understand the integration of operational excellence with cutting edge technology & ideas to help to build future ways of working, enabling the very best customer experience, whilst always considering simplification & business efficiency. You will develop & drive delivery of new workflows into production whilst optimising current ones, as well as commercially building out growth opportunities.
This role requires constant collaboration with our strategic, commercial, technical, content & production teams to align all operational planning with editorial goals, building & bringing to fruition key business objectives.
What You’ll Do
- Lead & manage business requests: around commercial & strategic requirements, regularly building out how we test & deliver opportunities, including rights related production plans across our portfolio of sports.
- Develop business cases for growth & efficiency: Always be ahead of industry trends, understanding emerging innovations & technologies and their use in the sports ecosystem.
- Lead a small team & virtual teams: to deliver strategic projects on time and within budget, ensuring operational excellence.
- Implement plans: to bring technological innovations to life on-screen and in production operations, simplifying workflows and always optimising our approach.
- Foster Collaboration Across Sky & Beyond: Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders at Sky & Comcast, as well as external strategic partners to build & deliver plans.
- Facilitate clear and effective communication: to align project objectives with broader organisational goals.
- Evolve key business metrics: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success of operational initiatives.
The successful candidate will have a strong sense of mission around the provision of best-in-class sports production across platforms, as it will be this crucial understanding that will be key to the role. The ability to work collaboratively across departments will be central to success.
