Live Content Coordinator – responsibilities
As a Live Content Coordinator, you will be crucial in ensuring the seamless delivery of live broadcast content for Sky Sports News channel. In a busy Newsroom environment, you will book the delivery of content via Satellite, IP, Cellular bonding units and fibre, and accurately represent technical information in the booking system for operational areas. You will work closely with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including Sky Sports News Production, Sky DE/IT, Operations, Sky MCR, and third-party service providers.
This role involves meticulous planning to ensure seamless delivery of live content. You’ll play an integral part of the process in a busy, dynamic team where teamwork and a strong team culture are valued.
What you\’ll do
- Coordination of all satellite, IP and fibre links for the transmission of live and non-live content for Sky Channels
- Work with 3rd party service providers, Broadcasters, Sky MCR and related stakeholders to deliver signals for Sky Channels
- Enter all technical delivery details accurately in the booking system (ScheduAll/Link) to inform technical areas of how the feed is routed, which equipment is allocated and provide contact details as required
- Understand the technical delivery and resources required to allocate to deliver a feed
- Follow up with service providers when issues have been reported
- Prioritise workload so that all requirements are met to agreed timescales
- Act as an integral part of the Sky Sports News Live Content Delivery team, fostering a collaborative and dynamic team culture
- The role is based in the busy Sky Ports News newsroom and is shift-based, operating on a rostered three days on and three days off pattern
Shift pattern
Shift Pattern: This role operates on a rotating shift pattern of 3 days on, 3 days off, covering a full 2-week cycle. Shifts include weekends and bank holidays, ensuring consistent coverage. Employees will alternate between early shifts (06:00–18:00) and late shifts (11:00–23:00). This schedule provides a balanced work-life rhythm while maintaining operational continuity across all days of the week.
What you\’ll bring
- Current/previous experience in live content coordination/broadcast bookings team or a similar role within broadcast operations required
- Educated to at least GCSE standard
- Communicate effectively with technical and creative departments and 3rd party Broadcasters or Service Providers
- Good Word/Excel/Outlook skills (ScheduLINK)
- Excellent organisational skills and multitasking abilities to manage multiple events and resources under pressure
- The ability to work effectively within a team, valuing teamwork and contributing to a positive team culture
