Are you seeking a new role? We have a fantastic new opportunity to join a growing business here in Aylesbury, with our clients recruiting for a Warehouse Operative & Driver on a temp - perm basis. A permanent contract would be issued on completion of 12 weeks. The purpose of this position is to support the business; you will be integral to both warehouse operations and logistics. Your duties will encompass a wide range of tasks including handling goods in and out, picking and packing orders, maintaining inventory control, safely operating warehouse machinery like forklifts, and making deliveries to customer production sites.
As a Warehouse Operative & Driver, key responsibilities and duties will include:
- Picking and packing tasks to meet order requirements, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Goods in and goods out processes, guaranteeing both timeliness and accuracy in inventory management.
- Regular inventory checks to maintain accurate stock levels, ensuring stock locations are systematically updated in the warehouse management system.
- Make deliveries to customer sites, to maintain continuous supply and operational efficiency.
- Maintain warehouse housekeeping standards, ensuring a clean, organized, and safe work environment for all staff.
- Complete routine stock-takes, aligning with business standards to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Work closely with the team to ensure equitable distribution of workload and adherence to deadlines, enhancing team efficiency and productivity.
- Deliver an exceptional level of service to both internal and external customers, fostering positive relationships and ensuring satisfaction.
- Comply with health and safety regulations, participating in training and development to maintain a safe working environment.
- Advising on the condition of warehouse machinery and vehicles by conducting inspections and monitoring their status, and recommending when maintenance and repairs should be scheduled to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
- Safely operate forklifts and other essential warehouse machinery, adhering to all safety guidelines and operational standards.
The working hours are:
- Warehouse Operatives: Mon–Thu, 08:00–16:30 (including a 30-minute break); Fri, 08:00–14:30.
- Delivery Days: Core hours are usually the same, but on long delivery days they may start as early as 06:00—and once they’ve completed the route, they’re usually free to clock off early. That said, some days may require overtime, depending on the delivery schedule and customer needs.
