News correspondent (12 Month FTC)

Job Description

We are looking for a Correspondent to join Sky News and deliver high quality, impactful journalism for Sky’s multiplatform news operation. The role is based in Osterley, but you would be expected to cover national stories across the South of England and sometimes beyond. This is a one-year contract to cover maternity leave. Please note a full driving license and passport is essential for this role.

What You’ll Do

• Deliver exclusive and impactful journalism across all platforms.
• Report on all types of breaking news and planned news coverage in London and beyond to provide compelling video content for digital, television and audio platforms.
• Work quickly against deadlines to deliver live and breaking video content, live broadcasts and written online content.

What You’ll Bring

• First class editorial judgement and the journalistic skill and experience to handle a wide range of national stories.
• The ability to broadcast live in a fluent and coherent way, both by way of analysis and by delivering the facts on breaking news events.
• Demonstrable capacity for delivering original and exclusive news stories.
• Good knowledge of law and compliance issues affecting news media.

Osterley

Your office base: Our Osterley Campus is a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane train station. Free shuttle buses run to and from Osterley, Gunnersbury, Ealing Broadway and South Ealing tube stations. There are bike shelters and showers. On campus you’ll find subsidised restaurants, cafes, a Waitrose, a gym, a cinema, a car wash and a beauty salon.
