The Tech One Program (TOP) is a structured career development program for entry-level wind technicians, built in partnership between industry leaders Sky Climber Renewables and Vestas Americas.

Job Summary:

The TOP Wind Service Technicians will receive exclusive wind safety and technical training accredited through the Global Wind Organization (GWO). They will primarily work at a wind site near their home, on a service team to ensure safe and efficient wind turbine maintenance. They report directly to the Program Manager and Site Manager, and indirectly to the Lead Technician during jobs. Responsibilities include performing all preventive, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance on wind turbine generator equipment safely and efficiently. They maintain and repair machinery or components used mainly in power generation, turbines, and generators, under supervision. They are not certified to work inside cabinets or controllers without direct supervision by a certified Electrical Technician. Additional duties may be assigned to meet customer needs and support Sky Climber’s mission and values.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States full-time
  • High School Diploma / GED and an Associate Degree in Mechanical or Wind Energy disciplines from an accredited institution, or equivalent work experience in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic industries
  • Successful completion of training including Basic Safety, Tower Safety, Technical (Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic), LOTO, and other required training
  • Pass background check and drug screening

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to climb 300-foot wind towers multiple times daily
  • Comfort working at heights and in confined spaces
  • Meet weight requirements (250-300 lbs.) including PPE
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions and handle up to 50 lbs
  • Successful completion of climb and rescue training

Responsibilities
