What you will do

As a Sales Director, Platforms, you will be responsible for originating and closing new logo platform partnerships across the embedded payments ecosystem—targeting Payment Facilitators, Merchant of Record (MoR) models, ISVs, aggregators, orchestration platforms, marketplaces, and other platform enablers. You will operate as a senior, consultative seller who can engage with senior leader stakeholders, navigate complex buying centres, and win long‑cycle opportunities that drive meaningful processing volume and revenue.

This is a hunter / new business role with end‑to‑end ownership of the sales cycle — from account research and prospecting through solution design, commercial negotiation, contracting, and partner onboarding coordination. You will work closely with Product, Solution Engineering, Risk/Underwriting, Compliance, Legal, and Operations to build compelling, value‑led propositions and ensure deals progress with discipline and pace.

Success in this role requires strong payments and platform knowledge, a track record of closing complex B2B deals, structured pipeline management, and the ability to influence internally while delivering externally.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, target, and win new platform partnerships within the Platforms ecosystem (PayFacs, MoR, ISVs, orchestration, aggregators, marketplaces, embedded payments partners).
  • Build a sustainable pipeline through strategic prospecting, networking, and industry engagement; develop target lists and account plans aligned to territory and segment priorities.
  • Own the full sales process from first meeting to signature: discovery, qualification, solution positioning, commercial structuring, negotiation, and closing.
  • Lead executive‑level conversations, developing multi‑threaded relationships across commercial, product, engineering, risk, compliance, and operations stakeholders on the partner side.
  • Create and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and ROI‑based business cases that connect partner needs to Paysafe capabilities.
  • Partner with internal teams (Product, Engineering/Solutions, Risk/Underwriting, Compliance, Legal, Finance, Operations, Marketing) to build winning deal strategies and accelerate time to close.
  • Drive disciplined forecasting and reporting: maintain accurate pipeline hygiene, opportunity notes, next steps, and forecast calls in Salesforce.
  • Negotiate commercial terms, pricing frameworks, and contractual structures in line with internal guardrails and partner value.
  • Support onboarding and early‑life partner launch in collaboration with implementation and operations teams to ensure a successful start and strong first‑90‑day outcomes.
  • Represent Paysafe at relevant industry events and conferences to expand network, elevate market presence, and generate opportunities.
  • Stay current on embedded payments and platforms trends, competitive dynamics, and regulatory developments to inform sales strategy and messaging.

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Technology, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 7+ years of experience in new business sales / business development within payments, fintech, SaaS, or platform/embedded payments ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated success closing complex, multi‑stakeholder deals with long sales cycles and high commercial impact.
  • Strong understanding of the payments value chain (acquiring/processing, gateways, alternative payment methods, risk, compliance) and how platforms monetize payments.
  • Experience selling to or partnering with platform business models (PayFac, MoR, ISV, marketplace, orchestration) strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to run a structured, strategic sales motion: researching and prioritising target accounts, mapping buying centres, building multi‑threaded relationships, and developing long‑term value‑led engagement plans.
  • Experience building and delivering executive‑ready proposals, presentations, and RFP/RFI responses.
  • Practical knowledge of platform/embedded payments concepts such as sub‑merchant models, platform monetisation, and integration considerations (e.g., APIs, routing/orchestration, reconciliation and settlement flows).
  • Familiarity with PayFac engagement complexity and regulatory considerations and the ability to partner effectively with Risk/Underwriting and Compliance during deal evaluation.
  • Strong network and market awareness within platforms/embedded payments, with the ability to represent Paysafe credibly at industry events.
  • Excellent executive presence, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills; ability to influence and align cross‑functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and commercial acumen — able to size opportunities, build business cases, and structure value‑based proposals.
  • High discipline in CRM usage (Salesforce preferred), forecasting, and sales process execution.
  • Willingness to travel as required for customer meetings and industry events.
