Founded in 2024, Skreen. ai helps forward-thinking companies build diverse, high-performing teams through AI-powered insights — replacing biased, inefficient CV screening and painful interview scheduling with smarter, fairer tools.
We're investing heavily in AI to make hiring faster, fairer, and more human.
About the Role
Skreen. ai is hiring a Junior AI Engineer to help build the next generation of AI-powered recruitment tools — smarter candidate screening, agentic workflows, voice-driven interview experiences, and intelligent search across candidates and jobs.
This is a hands‑on role with real ownership from day one.
You'll work closely with our CTO and engineering team, learn fast, and ship things that genuinely change how our customers hire.
Responsibilities
- Build and ship AI-powered features across our platform — from idea to production — including intelligent workflows, agentic tooling, and voice-driven interview experiences.
- Get deep into agentic AI and orchestration: designing multi-step LLM workflows, tool‑calling, and automation that make recruiting smarter and faster.
- Research and experiment with cutting‑edge agentic AI techniques and frameworks, bringing what you learn into production quickly.
- Move fast with modern AI coding tools, learn as you build, and take real ownership of the features you ship.
- Work closely with our CTO and engineering team — asking questions, getting feedback, and growing quickly as an engineer.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a STEM discipline (e. g. Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or related).
- ~1‑2 years of professional experience, or a strong academic/project track record for graduates.
- Required Skills
- Hands‑on experience building agentic AI or LLM‑powered software — prompt engineering, structured/function outputs, tool‑calling, and simple multi‑step AI workflows (e. g. with Open AI or similar providers).
- Ability to use AI development tools effectively (e. g. Cursor, Copilot, coding agents) while personally owning correctness and code quality.
- Strong coding skills across frontend and backend, in languages like Type Script and Python.
- Clear written communication — able to explain technical trade‑offs to a non‑technical audience when needed.
- Preferred Skills
- Comfortable working with relational/SQL databases (e. g. Postgre SQL).
- Experience integrating third‑party AI or voice APIs (e. g. Eleven Labs, Deepgram, or similar STT/TTS platforms).
- Experience with Lang Chain, Lang Graph, or a similar LLM orchestration framework for multi‑step agent workflows.
- Experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol) or similar protocol‑based tool‑access patterns for agents.
- Experience with Supabase or a comparable backend-as-a-service, and/or Python backend frameworks (e. g. Fast API).
- Experience in recruitment‑tech, HR‑tech, or related Saa S products.
- Pay range and compensation package
- Impact: You'll get hands‑on with real AI features from day one, working directly alongside our CTO and engineering team.
- Growth: A fast learning curve and a clear path to a more senior engineering role as you build track record and the team scales.
- Working style: Hybrid — 2 days per week from our Bath office.
- Holiday: 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays.
- Equipment: Mac Book Pro provided, along with whatever else you need to do your best work.
- Tools: Access to the latest AI coding and AI product tooling — you'll be encouraged to work at the frontier of how AI tools build AI products.
