Senior Buyer/Purchasing Manager, Hertfordshire, to £50k
This client is a manufacturing company supplying a variety of industries including the Aerospace sector. They are currently looking to recruit a proven Purchasing Manager to join their team. This is a brand new role for the business so the person joining will be able to make an impact. Working with a team of three others, you will be responsible for all purchasing activities including raw materials and consumables. Spend wise it will be c£10 million per annum and will include purchasing from suppliers internationally including countries such as USA, China, India plus countries in Europe.
You will be responsible for:
- Managing supply chain.
- Managing supplier relationships.
- Cost reduction initiatives.
- Risk management.
- Reporting to senior leadership.
- Team development.
- Overseeing key contracts and negotiations.
- Managing procurement system and processes.
- Ensuring compliance with purchasing policies.
As mentioned, you will have proven purchasing skills; you will either be a Purchasing Manager or a Buyer/Senior Buyer ready to make the step up. Knowledge of purchasing Steel would be a distinct advantage. Experience gained within an engineering/manufacturing environment (aerospace/defence beneficial) with ideally knowledge of purchasing from overseas countries.
