We are recruiting a Personal Assistant to support a university graduate with Muscular Dystrophy, enabling him to live as independently as possible. The role includes assisting with personal care, transport, household duties, and accompanying on residential university trips.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and day-to-day support at the client’s home and university.
- Assist with transfer to/from daily activities, including chair, bed, and power wheelchair.
- Support transport arrangements, help with train boarding and alighting, and provide accompaniment during weekend or overnight trips.
- Assist with basic household tasks and maintain the environment tidy.
- Attend to the client’s domestic pets, caring for dogs and cats.
- Remain flexible for occasional on‑call duties.
Qualifications
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
- Good sense of humour.
- Animal lover.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Open‑minded and organized with the ability to work independently.
- Clean and tidy appearance and habits.
- Independence, reliability and trustworthiness.
