About Our Client
Our client is a Zoology graduate who is currently looking for her first job role after finishing her undergraduate degree in September 2025. She has a diagnosis of Athetoid Cerebral Palsy and is a full-time wheelchair user. Her many hobbies include anything to do with animals, eating out and cinema visits. The client leads a very active life by looking for a full-time job and meeting up with friends and family. With a joyful and delightful persona, as well as a good sense of humour, our client enjoys going out to social events, such as theatre and cinema trips as well as just staying in and watching TV.
As written by her: I am interested in nature and animals and will always take the opportunity to watch a David Attenborough documentary, as well as having our own supply of animals (2 dogs, and a horse). I am a very social person, and now that I have finished my degree, I take every opportunity to go out and have fun. I can get socially anxious however, so will need some gentle encouragement when meeting new people. Saying this, I like to go to the pub, theatre, cinema, to eat out and to see friends. I equally like just staying in and watching a bingeable series. Looking my best is important to me, so a willingness to do hair and makeup is required. I have finally finished the four years of my Zoology degree at the University of Reading and am looking for my next adventure career-wise.
As I need someone on call 24/7, the day is split up into two 12-hour shifts. During the Day Shift, I will eventually need help travelling to the workplace as well as help once we're there. During the Night Shift, I am partial to a late night but when I get a job this will have to stop. I will still attend theatre trips and meet up with friends when I can.
About The Job
This is a fantastic opportunity to truly make a positive difference to somebody else's life by assisting our client to achieve her goals and aspirations. Therefore, this job offers the prospect of meaning and job satisfaction. You will provide support for our client's career as well as health and social care. This is also a flatmate type of role which goes far beyond simply care work and includes all the fun things you'd expect a university graduate to be doing, like staying in and watching TV, going out to see friends, going to the cinema, going on holiday and much more. As well as this, there will be some housekeeping required as well as managing medications and our client's care routine. Care experience is not required as full training in our client's particular requirements will be provided.
You Will Need
- To be physically fit, calm, patient and caring
- To be fluent in English
- To be clean and tidy in both your appearance and ways
- To be good with animals
- To have good organisational skills and the ability to work on your own initiative
- To have a good sense of humour
- To have a mature and responsible attitude
- To have good communication skills
- To have a full clean UK driving licence - you need to be a confident motorway driver as you will be required to drive the client's adapted vehicle.

✨Showcase Your Personality
Since this role is about companionship as much as care, let your personality shine through. Be prepared to share your interests and hobbies, especially those related to animals or social activities. This will help establish a connection with the client and demonstrate that you can engage in her lifestyle.
✨Highlight Your Flexibility
Emphasise your ability to adapt to different situations, especially since the role involves both day and night shifts.
