Key Responsibilities
  • Service, inspect and repair engines and mechanical systems of light motor vehicles, including gearboxes, suspension, steering, and braking systems.
  • Identify, diagnose and assess faults in engines and related components.
  • Disassemble engines, gearboxes, steering units and other parts for inspection and repair.
  • Repair or replace faulty or worn components and reassemble systems using manuals and technical guidelines where required.
  • Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, lubrication and engine tuning to ensure optimal performance and environmental compliance.
  • Rebuild engines and mechanical systems following repairs.
  • Test, fine-tune and verify the performance of repaired mechanical components.
  • Use diagnostic tools, equipment and computer systems to assess vehicle issues.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and, where applicable, issue roadworthiness certificates or recommend required repairs for compliance.
Requirements
  • Minimum Certificate III and IV in Automotive Mechanical Technology, or a successor qualification in the relevant field.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle systems and mechanical components.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
  • Full-time work rights in Australia.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Valid Manual Driver’s Licence (mandatory).
