Key Responsibilities- Service, inspect and repair engines and mechanical systems of light motor vehicles, including gearboxes, suspension, steering, and braking systems.
- Identify, diagnose and assess faults in engines and related components.
- Disassemble engines, gearboxes, steering units and other parts for inspection and repair.
- Repair or replace faulty or worn components and reassemble systems using manuals and technical guidelines where required.
- Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, lubrication and engine tuning to ensure optimal performance and environmental compliance.
- Rebuild engines and mechanical systems following repairs.
- Test, fine-tune and verify the performance of repaired mechanical components.
- Use diagnostic tools, equipment and computer systems to assess vehicle issues.
- Conduct vehicle inspections and, where applicable, issue roadworthiness certificates or recommend required repairs for compliance.
- Minimum Certificate III and IV in Automotive Mechanical Technology, or a successor qualification in the relevant field.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of vehicle systems and mechanical components.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
- Full-time work rights in Australia.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Valid Manual Driver’s Licence (mandatory).
