You will be responsible for ensuring cost control, valuations, variations, and commercial reporting are effectively managed, while driving profitability and compliance throughout project lifecycles.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full commercial responsibility for projects from pre-contract stage through to final account.
- Prepare and submit payment applications and valuations, ensuring all costs are captured accurately.
- Manage variations, compensation events, and change control, maintaining financial health across the project.
- Conduct cost value reconciliation (CVRs) and monitor margin tracking to ensure profitability.
- Oversee the procurement and management of subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring smooth collaboration and cost efficiency.
- Review and negotiate contracts, schedules of rates, and pricing mechanisms to ensure commercial viability.
- Contribute to tender pricing and provide commercial input on new opportunities, expanding your impact across the business.
- Liaise regularly with operations, site teams, and clients to maintain alignment and ensure smooth, profitable project delivery.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction.
- Experience in retrofit, scaffolding, or social housing is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of schedules of rates and framework contracts is essential.
- Commercially astute with excellent attention to detail.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects concurrently and meeting deadlines.
