An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic team and play a key role in the successful delivery of multiple projects across various frameworks. This position is ideal for someone with experience in retrofit, scaffolding, or general construction services, who is looking to take their career to the next level. You will be responsible for ensuring cost control, valuations, variations, and commercial reporting are effectively managed, while driving profitability and compliance throughout project lifecycles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full commercial responsibility for projects from pre-contract stage through to final account.
  • Prepare and submit payment applications and valuations, ensuring all costs are captured accurately.
  • Manage variations, compensation events, and change control, maintaining financial health across the project.
  • Conduct cost value reconciliation (CVRs) and monitor margin tracking to ensure profitability.
  • Oversee the procurement and management of subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring smooth collaboration and cost efficiency.
  • Review and negotiate contracts, schedules of rates, and pricing mechanisms to ensure commercial viability.
  • Contribute to tender pricing and provide commercial input on new opportunities, expanding your impact across the business.
  • Liaise regularly with operations, site teams, and clients to maintain alignment and ensure smooth, profitable project delivery.

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction.
  • Experience in retrofit, scaffolding, or social housing is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of schedules of rates and framework contracts is essential.
  • Commercially astute with excellent attention to detail.
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects concurrently and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage relationships at all levels.
  • Degree-qualified or equivalent experience is preferred.
