Lead QA (Gaming) J230

We are seeking an experienced QA Lead to drive quality strategy, automation, and testing for complex, performance-sensitive software systems. In this role, you will lead distributed QA teams, establish best practices for large-scale automated testing, and ensure new tools and integrations meet the high standards required by engineering teams, particularly in performance critical gaming contexts.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a distributed QA team, setting standards for quality engineering practices.
• Define, implement, and maintain automated testing frameworks (pytest, GoogleTest, Selenium).
• Manage QA efforts across AWS-based testing environments.
• Drive performance impact testing, ensuring integrations do not degrade build times, compilation speed, or IDE responsiveness.
• Develop and execute integration testing strategies for large-scale codebases and complex build systems.
• Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to identify, reproduce, and resolve defects efficiently.
• Report on quality metrics, test coverage, and performance benchmarks to stakeholders.

Core Required Skills

• 6+ years in QA engineering, with proven expertise in test automation.
• Hands-on experience with pytest, GoogleTest, and Selenium.
• Familiarity with AWS testing environments.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing distributed QA teams.

Critical Gaming Context (Preferred)

• Proven ability to design and run performance impact testing that validates tools do not degrade developer workflows.
• Understanding that integration testing must cover large-scale codebases and complex build systems.
• Awareness that gaming developers will abandon tools introducing even minor performance regressions.

Preferred Gaming Skills

• Experience with gaming-specific performance testing methodologies.
• Background in real-time system testing.
• Knowledge of platform-specific testing practices in gaming environments.

Pay: £45,000.00-£102,000.00 per year
