  • Monitor and analyse enterprise risk data – through KRI’s, event reporting and operational losses – turning insights into action. Identify trends and opportunities to strengthen controls and align with our risk appetite.
  • Support SBF assurance reviews and internal audits, financial crime investigations and external reporting, coordinating information flow and internal resource allocation.
  • Deliver training and awareness activities to build a strong risk culture across the organisation.
  • Stay ahead of emerging risks through horizon scanning, keeping up with industry and regulatory developments to ensure that the full suite of potential risks affecting SBF is identified, understood and managed.

Skills & Strengths

  • Solid understanding of enterprise risk management – from identifying and assessing risks to managing them effectively.
  • Strong data analysis skills, able to interpret complex information and present it clearly to different audiences, including Senior Leaders.
  • Highly organised with attention to detail, confident working independently to drive continuous improvement.
  • Excellent relationship‑building and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to tailor your approach to the bigger picture.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, manage conflicting deadlines and work flexibly in a fast‑paced environment.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Familiarity with risk management tools, techniques and practices within financial services.
  • Extensive experience in compliance, enterprise risk or a related role within financial services.
  • Experience preparing committee papers, reports and policy documentation.
  • Experience in a financial crime area within financial services is an advantage.
  • Experience in change management would be beneficial, though not essential.
