Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. A minimum of 3 days per week to be worked from our Head Office in Skipton, one ideally being a Wednesday.

We’ve a rare opportunity to come and join the Marketing Planning & Effectiveness team as a Marketing Compliance/Financial Promotions Lead. This is a first line compliance role with a commercial angle, ensuring the Society is protected and customer communications are compliant. You’ll be joining an expert team in a high performing function with the opportunity to work with colleagues from across the Society and beyond.

As the successful candidate, you’ll play a vital part in the development, launch and advertisement of new products and services within Savings, Mortgages and Financial Advice. You will be joining the Marketing Planning and Effectiveness team which has responsibility for planning, resourcing, performance and effectiveness for the whole CMO function. Your team is responsible for ensuring all Marketing Communications adhere to Financial Promotion rules. The Financial Promotion team is made up of two Financial Promotion Leads and two Senior Financial Promotion Specialists. We work with teams across the business, from Marcomms, Homes, Money and 2nd line functions.

What Will You Be Doing?

You’ll be predominately working with teams from across the business to review and approve financial promotions, ensuring they are compliant with relevant regulatory and legislative requirements. You’ll also be:

  • Building strong stakeholder relationships, sharing knowledge and experience to help approve promotions quickly and first time, communicating clearly to proactively manage potential issues
  • Establishing clear approval periods for financial promotions reflecting business risk
  • Liaising with second line functions; consulting on relevant requirements such as Consumer Rights Act 2015 and Equality Act 2010
  • Raising breaches to any regulations/legislation, ensuring the relevant teams are notified, event logs updated, and remedial action is agreed
  • Keeping knowledge up to date with relevant regulations, ensuring key stakeholders also understand through regular refresher training
  • Utilising the latest AI tools to ensure we are efficient and effective in our work
  • Getting hands-on with key project work, contributing to change initiatives, driving continuous improvement and optimisation of financial promotions processes

  • Understanding of financial promotions, associated compliance requirements and application to financial products
  • Understanding of FCA conduct of business requirements

  • Ability to interpret and communicate regulatory requirements in relation to Society Commercial Objectives
  • Strong communication, presentation and reporting skills
