Can you bring big ideas to life? Do you love turning insight, brand and visual thinking into creative work that people actually notice? We’re looking for a Creative Design Lead to help shape how Skipton Building Society and the wider Skipton Group look, feel and communicate across print and digital channels. You’ll create compelling visual and conceptual work, combining strong creative craft with the kind of fresh thinking that helps a brand stand out.
This is a role for someone who can do more than make things look good. You’ll bring original ideas, challenge the obvious, and help raise the standard of creative work across the team. You’ll work from brief to delivery, creating campaigns, communications and design that feel on-brand, channel-appropriate and built around real people.
At Skipton, we're founded on fairness. We exist to do right by our members - and we believe that starts with doing right by our people. So whoever you are and whatever you bring, there's a place for you here and a genuine plan for where you go next.
What You’ll Do
Here in enabling Functions you’ll tackle big challenges, drive change and watch your career soar. You’ll be part of a team that keeps us running and you’ll have people from all corners of our business counting on you. Every idea you have, every process you improve helps support colleagues, support members to buy homes, and save for the future. None of it happens without you.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Generating original creative concepts and ideas, bringing a clear point of view to every brief.
- Developing visual ideas across print and digital channels, ensuring creative work stretches effectively across platforms and delivers impact in digital spaces.
- Working with the Creative Manager and other designers to help develop, evolve and embed our visual identity across the Skipton Group and Skipton Building Society brands.
- Presenting and explaining creative ideas clearly to senior stakeholders, building confidence through the strength of your thinking.
- Staying close to trends in advertising, design and culture, using your expertise to help grow our digital creative capability and raise creative standards across the team.
What You’ll Need
- Proven experience as a senior designer, with a portfolio that demonstrates both exceptional creative craft and conceptual thinking.
- Experience creating creative work within a regulated environment for established brands, where trust, reputation and customer outcomes matter as much as creativity.
- A strong digital background, with experience creating work across a range of digital channels, formats and emerging creative trends.
- Advanced knowledge of industry-standard creative tools, such as Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma.
- Strong visual design skills, creative flair and a genuine interest in what makes communication work.
- The ability to work across strategic, concept and executional phases of design with confidence.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence others, present creative ideas confidently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
