About the Role
Skipton Building Society is looking for a Customer Consultant to work at our Bristol Branch. The role involves engaging in conversations to find out customers’ needs, providing information about our savings range, products and services, helping them review their circumstances and goals, and delivering a straightforward, helpful service. Whether promoting new products or resolving issues, you will place customers’ needs at the heart of everything you do and provide a first‑class service every time.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Be the first point of contact: warmly welcome customers in‑branch and over the phone, ensuring a positive first interaction.
- Engage and understand: ask insightful questions to uncover and comprehend customers' needs, delivering tailored solutions.
- Listen and tailor solutions: offer personalized solutions that meet customers' unique circumstances.
- Proactive outreach: reach out to customers over the phone, identifying their needs and discussing support options.
- Maintain accurate records: keep customer records up‑to‑date, focusing on identifying and supporting vulnerable customers.
- Adhere to policies: understand and follow company policies, standards and controls, with comprehensive training and coaching.
What Do We Need From You?
You should have previous experience interacting with customers; experience in a bank, building society or contact centre is a plus. Experience may also come from retail, food & beverage, guest services or health/care sectors, provided you demonstrate a passion for exceptional service and a willingness to go above and beyond.
Ability to work well alongside others, with a ‘one‑team’ mindset. Fast reaction during busy periods and strong time‑management to handle diverse customer enquiries. Desire to grow, adapt and change while accommodating business needs and priorities.
