As our Platform Manager for Identity, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring these services remain secure, resilient and ready for the future.

This is an exciting opportunity to combine leadership, strategy and technology. You'll lead a multidisciplinary engineering team, define the future direction of the Identity platform and drive improvements that create value for both colleagues and members. From modernising capabilities and strengthening security to improving reliability and delivery performance, you'll help shape how Identity supports Skipton's wider technology transformation.

If you're passionate about technology leadership, building high-performing teams and creating secure, scalable platforms that make a real difference, we'd love to hear from you.

At Skipton, we're founded on fairness. We exist to do right by our members and we believe that starts with doing right by our people. So whoever you are and whatever you bring, there's a place for you here and a genuine plan for where you go next.

What You'll Do

Every day at Skipton is innovation day. Join our Technology team and you'll discover that we're constantly focused on real challenges as we build the tools that get things done for our members, quicker than you imagine.

As Platform Manager for Identity, you'll be responsible for the vision, performance and continuous evolution of our Identity platform, ensuring it delivers secure, reliable and scalable services that support both current and future business needs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Defining and evolving the Identity platform roadmap, aligned to business priorities and wider technology strategy.
  • Leading and developing a multidisciplinary engineering team, creating an environment where people can learn, grow and perform at their best.
  • Driving continuous improvement across delivery, reliability, quality and platform performance.
  • Owning platform priorities and making informed decisions that balance customer outcomes, technical evolution and operational stability.
  • Ensuring the platform operates securely and effectively whilst meeting regulatory, risk and compliance requirements.
  • Managing operational performance, reducing service disruption and improving resilience across Identity services.
  • Building strong relationships with engineering, architecture, security and business teams to maximise platform value.

What You'll Need

We're looking for someone who enjoys leading teams, solving complex challenges and creating technology platforms that deliver meaningful outcomes:

  • Experience leading platform, engineering or technology teams within a complex environment.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills, with a proven ability to develop high-performing teams.
  • Experience defining technology roadmaps and aligning delivery to strategic objectives.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence colleagues at all levels.
  • Experience working within Agile and iterative delivery environments.
  • Knowledge of risk management, governance, compliance and audit requirements.
  • A passion for continuous improvement, operational excellence and delivering value to customers and colleagues.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role is measured by the value, reliability and outcomes delivered through the Identity platform:

  • Build a clear and compelling vision for the future of the Identity platform.
  • Deliver a reliable, secure and scalable platform that supports business growth.
  • Improve operational performance, resilience and service quality.
  • Create high-performing engineering teams that are engaged, collaborative and empowered.
  • Deliver measurable improvements in flow, quality and customer outcomes.
  • Strengthen the platform's security, compliance and governance posture.

And that includes the people who work here. So, when we say we care about your wellbeing, we mean it. Wellbeing isn't just one thing. It's about feeling good, having energy and being able to be yourself and perform at your best. That's why we offer help for your mental and physical health across five key areas.

What's more, it's help that you can actually use too, not just read about.

Apply Now

Sounds like you? Then apply now. You don't need to tick every box. We look for people who care about our members and who want to grow at the same time. The rest can follow.

Diversity and inclusion are a priority for us as we continue to support our members and represent the communities we serve.
