Skin + Me is a mission driven start-up with seriously big skin goals. We’re looking for an exceptional Engineer to join our Operations Team at Skin + Me. This is a full time role based at our state of the art factory in North Acton.

About the role

As an Engineer at Skin + Me you will be part of the end-to-end project process - from design, order & build of new machinery and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a degree in mechanical engineering, controls and automation, electrical or similar and be highly competent at problem solving challenges in a manufacturing environment.

What you'll do

  • Work on exciting and challenging engineering projects across the factory
  • Deliver solutions to complex and varied engineering challenges
  • Work on a diverse range of projects from start to finish including installation, testing, modification, upgrades, and development of machinery and infrastructure.
  • Provide hands‑on technical support to resolve major engineering issues quickly and efficiently.

Who you are

  • Great at problem solving, being creative and able to implement solutions
  • Able to work well under pressure in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
  • Highly competent at 3D modelling in CAD packages (preferably Solidworks)
  • Experience in relevant manufacturing techniques (e.g. laser cutting, CNC and injection moulding) and product packaging
  • Good knowledge of control motion systems (actuators, pneumatics, bearings etc.)
  • Ideally have experience of PLC programming or coding skills
  • A degree in engineering, controls and automation, electrical or similar
  • Ideally have 4+ years of experience, but we’re open to strong candidates at different stages of their career
