The Role
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Communications Manager to take ownership of PR, influencer marketing, and brand partnerships at Skin Rocks. This senior-level role is responsible for developing and executing high-level communications strategies that enhance brand reputation, drive awareness, and support key business objectives.
As Communications Manager, you will lead media and influencer relations, oversee campaign execution, and play a key role in brand storytelling. You will have top-tier relationships across the beauty industry, identify strategic opportunities, and position Skin Rocks as a leading skincare authority. You will also be responsible for managing and mentoring junior team members. Reporting into the Head of Marketing, you will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement PR and influencer strategies that align with brand goals and key launch moments.
- Press Office Leadership: Oversee press and influencer databases, media tracking, and PR calendar management.
- Campaign Execution: Lead ideation, planning, and execution of PR campaigns, product launches, and always-on activations.
- Media & Influencer Relations: Cultivate strong relationships with journalists, influencers, and industry stakeholders, ensuring ongoing coverage and visibility.
- Brand Storytelling: Identify and capitalise on media trends to drive thought leadership, product placements, and expert commentary opportunities.
- Event Management: Oversee press and influencer events, from concept to execution, ensuring seamless delivery and strong ROI.
- Influencer Marketing: Lead strategy and execution for paid and organic influencer partnerships, ensuring alignment with brand values and objectives.
- Brand Partnerships: Identify and secure brand collaborations that enhance brand equity, extend reach, and drive NCA and commercials.
- Team Development: Manage and mentor junior team members, providing support and guidance to elevate team performance.
- Reporting & Analysis: Measure PR and influencer activity, providing insights and recommendations for optimisation showcasing the divisions achievements to the Senior Leadership Team.
- Agency Management: Collaborate with the founder’s publicity team to ensure alignment on personal brand projects—such as her podcast, book launch, and broader profiling opportunities—that contribute to overall business brand awareness.
- Industry Representation: Act as a brand ambassador for Skin Rocks at key industry events, fostering relationships and identifying opportunities to elevate brand presence.
- Budget Management: Overseeing the communications budget, including influencer partnerships, press events, and agency retainers, ensuring ROI and cost efficiency.
- Content & Messaging Development: Overseeing brand messaging across all external communications, including press releases, statements, and briefing materials for spokespersons also, working closely with the Content team to ensure consistency across communications.
- Crisis Communications: Managing brand reputation in the event of negative press, ensuring proactive and reactive crisis comms strategies are in place.
- Social Media & Digital Integration: Ensure PR and influencer activities align with social media content strategy, CRM initiatives, and paid media efforts to maximise reach and engagement. Collaborate closely with these teams to amplify key brand messages and optimise campaign performance across all channels.
Skills and Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in PR, communications, or influencer marketing.
- Experience working with beauty brands, preferably skincare.
- Strong network of press and influencer contacts within the beauty industry.
- Proven track record of securing top-tier media coverage and influencer partnerships.
- Excellent storytelling ability and strategic thinking.
- Highly organised with strong project management skills.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and reporting tools.
Annual Basic Salary: £45 - £55k dependent on experience.
