The Role
We are seeking an experienced, commercially focused Senior Operations & Procurement Manager to lead and optimise end-to-end business operations, including supply chain, logistics, inventory, fulfilment, and internal processes across D2C, B2B, and retail channels. Reporting into the Head of Merchandising, this role will also oversee procurement and supplier management for merchandise and packaging, ensuring cost efficiency, product quality, strong supplier partnerships, and ownership of the critical path for all non-skincare products. Working cross-functionally with E-commerce, Customer Service, Marketing, and Finance, this role is critical to supporting Skin Rocks’ next phase of growth and operational scale.
Role Responsibilities
- Operations & 3PL Management: Own the end-to-end relationship with the 3PL, overseeing warehousing, inventory control, and order fulfilment. Monitor warehouse and fulfilment costs, driving efficiency improvements. Anticipate future UK and international warehouse needs and proactively recommend improvements and scalable solutions. Ensure inventory accuracy, batch control, expiry management, and stocktakes.
- Fulfilment & Shipping Strategy: Develop and optimise shipping and fulfilment strategy, balancing customer experience, cost, and scalability. Review courier, shipping, and packaging performance, including competitor benchmarking. Ensure outbound shipping updates are communicated effectively across the business. Evaluate packaging for sustainability, customer experience, cost, and compliance. Manage Professional channel fulfilment and demand planning.
- Supply Chain & Logistics: Lead inbound and outbound freight for skincare, packaging, and merchandise. Coordinate with suppliers, warehouses, logistics partners, and retail customers to ensure timely, compliant deliveries. Secure cost-effective freight solutions while protecting product quality and lead times.
- Product & SKU Management: Manage the full SKU lifecycle, including setup, changes, and discontinuations across all systems and channels. Ensure operational readiness for launches, reformulations, and packaging changes.
- Procurement & Project Management: Own procurement for merchandise, packaging, and gift sets, delivering best value while maintaining brand standards. Manage supplier sourcing, negotiation, onboarding, and performance. Lead end-to-end development of merchandise and gift sets, from concept through delivery. Partner with Marketing, Design, E-commerce, and 3PL teams to deliver launches on time through effective critical path management. Manage purchase orders and supplier relationships.
- Shipping Materials & Collateral: Maintain stock of all shipping materials and branded collateral. Continuously improve packaging functionality, presentation, cost, and sustainability.
- Team Management: Lead, coach, and develop the Merchandising Coordinator. Anticipate and make recommendations for future team requirements to support ongoing business growth and scalability.
Experience and Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in operations, supply chain, logistics, or procurement, ideally in beauty, retail, or e-commerce.
- Experience scaling a DTC/omnichannel brand in the UK and internationally.
- Strong leadership and team management capability.
- Deep understanding of supply chain, fulfilment, and procurement.
