Skin + Me is a mission-driven start-up with seriously big skin goals. We are looking for an exceptional Engineer to join our Operations Team at Skin + Me. This is a full-time role based at our state-of-the-art factory in North Acton.
About the role:
As an Engineer at Skin + Me, you will be part of the end-to-end project process - from design, order & build of new machinery and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a degree in mechanical engineering, controls and automation, electrical or similar and be highly competent at problem-solving challenges in a manufacturing environment.
What you’ll do:
- Work on exciting and challenging engineering projects across the factory.
- Deliver solutions to complex and varied engineering challenges.
- Work on a diverse range of projects from start to finish including installation, testing, modification, upgrades, and development of machinery and infrastructure.
- Provide hands-on technical support to resolve major engineering issues quickly and efficiently.
Who you are:

- Great at problem-solving, being creative and able to implement solutions.
- Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Highly competent at 3D modelling in CAD packages (preferably Solidworks).
- Experience in relevant manufacturing techniques (e.g. laser cutting, CNC and injection moulding) and product packaging.
- Good knowledge of control motion systems (actuators, pneumatics, bearings etc.).
- Ideally have experience of PLC programming or coding skills.
- A degree in engineering, controls and automation, electrical or similar.
- Ideally have 4+ years of experience, but we’re open to strong candidates at different stages of their career.
